“OBSIDIAN THOUGHTS” EP

OBSIDIAN THOUGHTS - the Artsy, Edgy, Moody Alternative R&B EP whose inspiration hails from the likes of Prince, George Michael, and Miguel.

Prince, Miguel, George Michael, and few others were unintended musical inspirations for this project. And I say unintended because I didn’t purposely work to reach a sound with them in mind. This is just a sound that was born out of my desire to create something, anything new, as my mind is still in the process of searching for something larger and greater to create music wise. OBSIDIAN THOUGHTS is artsy, edgy, and moody. I am very excited to see what else I can create.

Sometimes It’s That DEEP

There was a time when it came to me making music, that my first inclination would be towards emceeing. I really tried to make something of it for a while. But over time I began leaning on my more natural singing talents as well as production. Nowadays, it is rare that I get the urge to rap. However, when that urge hits me, to it I shall heed. This song “DEEP” is a result of said urge. Hope you enjoy!

The cover art to Lexx Black's album "SOUND OF SHADOWS"

Revisiting this album brings an amalgam of emotions for me. First of which is elation as this was the first project I was able to actually translate the feelings I had that bothered me, into music form that proved to be therapeutic for the first time. The other emotion was a deep, cutting, and profound sadness, as this project captured merely a portion of the deep dark pain and depression I was feeling in relation to my children both being on the spectrum, and our family being in the thick of its ills. That sadness was also compounded with rage and resentment at people who I thought would be there for me, but have failed me. When I listen back to the album, I am proud of my progression as an artist, and I still feel the dull ache of the pain of that time period.
